First wedding of 2013 for me. I’ve been anxiously awaiting it for months and … as February goes… it was cold. “Felt like 1 degree” but was actually 10. Met with Roberta the week of the wedding. We went over the big day in detail and one of the biggest concerns on my mind was the weather. Girls in dresses. Always recommend coats and boots and we can mess with wardrobe once we arrive to our spot. Logistically, it was easier to walk to the path by the union. And that’s what we did. And it was cold. But something Nathan and Roberta will never forget 😀 Beautiful wedding that was held The Pres House what a gorgeous church! And when church was done, guests literally walked across the sidewalk to the lovely University Club and enjoyed wonderful hospitality. I actually really love working at the University Club. The staff is always so kind and accommodating and the natural light and decor there is fantastic. Great spots for shots, beautiful backdrop, lots of natural light… and the location is so nice too–so close to the lake, etc. I’m always impressed.
The photo below was one that stuck out to me. I have seen many father/daughter dances in my “days” but the song on this “I loved her first” for some reason got me all choked up. Not sure I’ve ever shared this tid-bit about myself, but I eloped. And the one things I’ll always regret is not having that father/daughter dance with my dad. And the smiles happening on these 2 faces and the song just got to me.
It was an awesome wedding and I’m so appreciative to the 2 of you for asking me to photograph it. I enjoyed myself–cold air and all! May you have so many more wonderful years ahead!
